Južne vesti: The choir “Branko” and the hymn to St Sava in the Vatican
The mixed choir of the Choral Society “Branko”, conducted by Sara Cincarević, performed on 25 January 2025 at the Basilica of St Paul Outside the Walls in the Vatican, with a programme of Serbian sacred music that ended with the hymn to St Sava.
Vespers were led by Pope Francis and attended by some two thousand faithful and the diplomatic corps with more than 40 representatives accredited to the Holy See, as well as the Archbishop of Belgrade, Cardinal Ladislav Nemet, and His Grace Bishop Petar of Toplica, as envoy of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
The invitation followed the cooperation with the Sistine Chapel Choir, which began at the “Music Edict” festival in Niš in 2023.
