Branko Choir opens the “In Honour of Predrag Milošević” festival in Knjaževac
The mixed choir of the Niš Church Choral Society “Branko”, conducted by Sara Cincarević, opened the art music festival “In Honour of Predrag Milošević” at the Knjaževac Cultural Centre on 30 October 2026. The concert was held with the blessing of Archbishop and Metropolitan Arsenije of Niš.
The full-length programme featured both sacred and secular choral works. The sacred part included compositions by Stevan Stojanović Mokranjac, Dimitri Conomos, Andrej Cincarević and other composers, while the secular part brought Mokranjac's Eighth and Tenth Rukovet, “Golema č’čkalica” by Dragana Veličković, the folk songs “Oj, Moravo” and “Niška Banja”, and “Tamo daleko”.
The festival preserves the memory of Predrag Milošević, a composer and organiser of musical life from Knjaževac, and promotes Serbian music through concerts, lectures, exhibitions and literary evenings. It was founded by Knjaževac native Dušan Panajotović, a violinist, concertmaster and assistant professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade.
